2nd ERANet-LAC joint call

 

 

ERANet-LAC is a Network of the European Union (EU) and the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) on Joint Innovation and Research Activities funded by the European Commission for a period of three and half years (2013-1017).

2nd ERANet-LAC joint call

will be launched on 1st December 2015

 

32 funding organizations from 26 member countries in the European Union (EU) and the Community of Latin-American and Caribbean States (CELAC) joined forces to aim for the 2nd ERANet-LAC multilateral call for proposals. The objective of the joint call is to develop cooperative research and innovation activities in the thematic fields of Biodiversity/Climate, Bioeconomy, Energy, Health and Information- and Communication Technologies (ICT).

The topics were selected by the participating funding organizations out of a pool of topics proposed by the thematic working groups of the EU-CELAC SOM (Senior Officials Meeting), which were created to implement the Joint Initiative for Research and Innovation (JIRI).

The countries that confirmed their interest in participating are: Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain and Turkey, and in Latin-America / Caribbean: Argentina, Barbados, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Trinidad and Tobago and Uruguay. Their total commitments amount to more than 13 million euros.

Deadline for the submission of proposals is 10th March 2016. ERANet-LAC supports the identification of partner institutions in Latin-America/Caribbean and Europe. The 1st ERANet-LAC joint call was launched in September 2014. As a result, 20 funding organizations from Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean countries are presently funding 14 transnational research and innovation projects. 79 research institutions and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) from both regions are involved in the international consortia. The total financial volume amounts to 10.4 million €.
